Profile of a Ghost Hunter

Jackie Hicks, along with sister and co-founder Tiny Lano, and a team of investigators have been working for about a year as the Fort Wayne Shadow Chasers (FWSC).

Hicks also publishes a newspaper called The Indiana Paranormal Inquisitor that distributes 1600 copies in five states. The newspaper seeks to “bring you insight on some of the best Local Haunts and Haunted places and anything out of the ordinary, throughout the state of Indiana as well as surrounding States,” as taken from the publication’s Facebook page.

Halloween is the busiest time of year for FWSC. Hicks said they stage investigations as residents call seeking answers to strange activity. Since the group’s inception, Hicks said FWSC has been investigating roughly 10 houses per month.

The FWSC does not charge for their services and are driven by their love for explaining the paranormal.

As an objective analyst, Hicks urges anyone who does not believe in the existence of supernatural events to join her team: “I would want them to give us a different angle. We don’t always say it’s a spirit and we do our best to figure out what it is we are really dealing with.”

FWSC is currently seeking Equipment Technical Assistants and Investigators pending application and background check. Information for the group can be found at their website www.fwshadowchasers.com
