Purdue Fort Wayne undergraduate students will pay a banded rate for tuition starting with the fall 2018 semester.

Students will pay a flat tuition rate for a course load from 12 to 18 credit hours. Students who take less than 12 credit hours will still pay per credit hour. Those taking more than 18 credit hours will pay the flat rate and an additional rate for each credit over 18, according to the university’s press release.

Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs David Wesse said in a press release, “Banded tuition makes it easier for students and their families to plan for the cost of college. It also gives students the opportunity to take the number of credit hours that works best for them without the financial worry.”

According to the press release, the university is implementing banded tuition to encourage students to graduate on time, potentially saving students time and money.
