IPFW Community Orchestra to Feature Concerto Winners

The IPFW Community Orchestra event will take place Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Auer Performance Hall, and feature six winners of the Student Concerto and Aria competition.

Sarah Gonser, Sara Mowrey and Betsy Hart will be singing selections from various operas and compositional collections, including pieces from Jules Massenet’s “Werther,” Gaetano Donizetti’s “Linda di Chamounix” and Hector Berlioz’s “Les nuits d’ete.”

Instrumental pieces will also be performed, with Ian Braley playing Ferdinand David’s “Concertino for Trombone and Orchestra’,” Manny Colburn performing Arthur Frackenpohl’s “Concertino for Tuba and String Orchestra” and Jason Simon presenting the third movement from Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Piano Concerto No. 2.”

Admission is free for IPFW students, $7 for adults and free for children under the age of 10.
