Allison Curtis, four-year member of the IPFW Women’s Golf team, broke one long-standing IPFW Women’s Golf records on Sept. 22 at the Cardinal Classic golf tournament. Curtis’ 5-over 149 broke the two day par 144 record of 150 from 2007.

“I wasn’t really expecting much when we went down there. We had only played one tournament [at that point], so I was just going to try to shoot the best I [could],” Curtis said.

About her play, Curtis said she stayed around the green for most of the day, and so was consistently able to get up-and-down for par.

As for the records, Curtis was unaware of what she had accomplished. “I knew that was the best round that I had shot in college. Until everyone was posting on social media and stuff, I had no idea,” the senior golfer said.

Curtis said she chose IPFW to be able to get experience playing all the courses she could, and to play for a Division I school. The new IPFW record-holder said her favorite thing about playing golf for IPFW is traveling with the team and the variety of places she has been able to play.
