IPFW Women’s Basketball Team Defeats NDSU 70-58

The women’s basketball team wrapped up its last road game of the season with a win against North Dakota State Feb. 9. It was the first road win this season for the Mastodons.

Going into halftime, the Dons were behind NDSU 25-30 after several ties and lead changes. IPFW came to in the second half, however, taking 45 points with 56 percent shooting against the Bison to end the competition at 70-58.

Junior No. 11 Amanda Hyde netted 19 points, two assists and two steals in the win. Junior No. 12 Erin Murphy and sophomore No. 10 Haley Seibert also recorded double figures with 17 and 15 points, respectively. Junior No. 3 Stefanie Mauk narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Dons improved to 9-14 overall and 5-6 in the Summit League with the win. They’ll be playing the last home games of the season at Gates Sports Center next weekend against Kansas City and South Dakota.
