Approximately 15 members of IPFW’s student organization Campus Feminists in Solidarity participated in the Women’s March downtown Fort Wayne Jan. 21, according to Sylvia Rust, the groups secretary.

Rust is a double major in political science and communication, minoring in women’s studies.

“I participated in the march because it is important to exercise your First Amendment rights. I think it’s amazing to come together and see other people as dedicated to being an advocate as I am,” Rust said via Facebook messenger. “It is comforting to know there are people in Fort Wayne that want to see more representation from women, POC,  LGBT+ folks. I think it’s important to spread intersectional messages, especially in a place where, as one of the speakers said, is actually moving in a worse direction in terms of equity.”

Rust said she was happy to see many IPFA faculty and students in the crowd during the march.
